The mission of the Institutional Advancement Department is to advance the educational opportunities and services of St. Edward High School by generating resources from prospective funders (i.e. alumni, employees, corporations, foundations, friends, parents), to support and enhance the School’s revenues. The Department is the catalyst and conduit through which all donations flow to provide immediate and long-term support for the School, its students, and its programs. The Department also serves as the clearinghouse for all alumni promotion, alumni advertising, and alumni publications in order to ensure consistency in the School’s message to its alumni constituents.Role of the Institutional Advancement Department
One unit, the Institutional Advancement Office is comprised of Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Public Relations, and Special Events.
The Institutional Advancement Department serves as the coordinating unit and clearinghouse for seeking, receiving, and monitoring gifts and grants from external sources. It also serves as the originating unit and clearinghouse for promotion, advertising, and publications that are disseminated from the School to alumni. Whenever dealings occur with alumni, friends, corporation, foundations, or the community, the Institutional Advancement Department is involved.
Coordination of Appeals for Funds and Approaches to Donors
It is the responsibility of the Institutional Advancement Department to serve as the primary liaison in soliciting donations from alumni, faculty, staff, businesses, corporations, foundations, individuals, and organizations. In addition, the Institutional Advancement Department coordinates the solicitation of gifts by programs and departments to avoid an excessive number of solicitations to the same constituency in the name of St. Edward High School.
Primarily, the funds are requested for and contributed to the St. Edward High School Annual Fund, endowments, scholarship programs, and capital purposes. However, funds can be solicited by various means for a variety of purposes, including the following items:
· Academic and general School program enhancement
· Computer equipment
· Library resources
· Faculty and staff development
· Other equipment
· Other needs as determined by the School
