season the eagles have advanced to the final eight in the State for the 6th
time in the last 7 years, and the 5th year in a row. The Eagles will play

Varsity will practice Tuesday in the SAC at 1:30; again varsity will
practice Tuesday in the SAC at 1:30. JV volleyball, JV players get your

Today is the last day for full service in the Cafeteria. Today’s Green

DRESS DOWN DAYS
If you paid $5 this week you can dress down next week for finals. Only those
students who paid their $5 can dress down. The parameters for dress down
days are: Students can wear tennis shoes, jeans, sweat pants, shorts, and
t-shirts. The clothing needs to be in good repair and not offensive. All
other students are under present dress code rules. Haiti t-shirts or dress
shirt and tie with dress pants and dress shoes are the rule.

title at noon and 6 p.m. on Saturday with the semi’s and finals on Sunday.

Good Luck to the Varsity Volleyball Team, as they will attempt to make their
way to the final Eight in Columbus. The Eagles will play tonight, Thursday
at 5:30p.m. at Case Western Reserve University, and if victorious will go to

The varsity baseball team will play Solon this Sunday at 3pm at Progressive
Field. This is a make up game from last month. Anyone who purchased a ticket

Congratulations to the Volleyball team, in front of a packed crowd last
night, the Eagles defeated the Wildcats across from Wendys in a marathon 5
game match. The Eagles finished the season 19 and 5 and sent the Wildcats
home in defeat. What a great way to end the regular-season, good luck to
the team in the play-offs.

The freshman baseball team won its 18th game yesterday defeating the Ellet
Orangemen 17-3. There is no practice for the ninth graders today or

W have two openings for the June 8-14 Appalachia work week in West Virginia.

in helping low income people with housing by participating in this home

BASEBALL
The freshman baseball team lost to Benedictine in nine innings but swept
University School on Saturday's doubleheader. There is no freshman practice
today.

VOLLEYBALL
Congratulations to the St. Edward Volleyball team on a great season,
although there is one game left. This Thursday, may 15th the Eagles will be
hosting those Wildcats across from Wendys, in the main gym. Faculty Staff
and Students, please come out and support your team this Thursday as the
Cats are out to avenge the loss we handed to them in their gym just a few
weeks ago. This will be the last match of the regular season, so come out
and support your team in beating those Wildcats this Thursday at 7:00

ULTIMATE FRISBEE
Ultimate Frisbee will happen Tuesday morning at 7am on the back field. take

On Friday, May 16th our St. Edward Lacrosse team will play Sylvania on
Coughlin Field. Our Varsity Lacrosse team is undefeated and ranked #2 in
the club division, Sylvania is #1. Please come and show your support as
they finish up their season with this huge game, JV play at 6:00 and Varsity
at 7:30.

BASKETBALL
Attention all juniors/sophomores/freshmen who wish to try-out for basketball
next season. There is a brief, but very important meeting regarding this
off-season and summer schedule. This meeting is mandatory if you wish to

freshmen will play Strongsville today at Kauffman in a 4:30 game.

The J.V. baseball game with Mentor ended in a 10-10 tie last evening and was
called due to darkness.

VOLLEYBALL
Tonight in the main gym the St. Edward Varsity Volleyball team will take on
Hoban. Hoban is ranked 5th in the State, and number one in the region. The
Eagles are looking to upset knights tonight, JV starts at 6:00 and varsity
follows around 7:00. Come out and support your 18 and 4 Eagles tonight in
the main gym, we need your support in beating top ranked Hoban.

SENIOR PROM
Two more days until “Fun, Fun, Fun.” Did you get your permission slip in
for the Prom and After Prom? If not, get it to Mr. Duffy or Mrs. Belluomini
at the Reception desk as soon as possible. Don’t forget the AfterProm will
be held at the Strongsville Rec Center where there will be plenty of food,
fabulous pool complete with water slide, get your picture taken at the old
fashioned photo booth, meet with the fortune teller, beach volleyball, Happy

HOLY CROSS HAITI SHIRTS
Reminder to all students the Holy Cross t-shirts are in and will be sold
before and after school in the main hallway. You can purchase the shirts for
$15 and then you can wear them for the rest of the school year in place of
your dress shirt and tie. All proceeds go to our Holy Cross sister parish in
Haiti. Be comfortable, be giving, be St. Eds, be Holy Cross, beautiful
t-shirts.

ART
We still have some art sculpture to return. Claim your sculpture, today or
it will be given away.

FINE ARTS
This Sunday is the Edward High School Spring Concert featuring the Concert
Band, Jazz Band, and Choir. The concert is at 7:00 PM in the SEHS gym.
Admission to this wonderful evening of music is free.

MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY CAMP
Students interested in applying for this summer’s June 15-21 Muscular
Dystrophy Camp at Camp Cheerful can pick up an application packet in the
Campus Ministry Office this week. Applications are due to the MDA Office by
Friday, May 9th. Apply soon!

BASEBALL
Yesterday at Kauffman Park, Vince Bartolone threw a complete game shutout
against Medina as the freshman baseball team won 5-0. The freshmen play
Notre Dame - Cathedral Latin today at Kauffman at 4:30. Tomorrow they play
at Lakewood in a game starting at 11 a.m.

This is a reminder to Juniors and Seniors registered for Intensive Italian
next school year: There will be a meeting today at 3:10 p.m. in Mrs.

Our varsity team beat St. Ignatius 11-4. Kevin Lesjak pitched four
scoreless innings bringing his record to 5-0. He had help from Brian Boland
who went 4-4. Josh Becks with 2 doubles, Alex Lavisky lead off home run and
Stetson Allie 3-run home run. Congratulations to the whole team.
JV Baseball will practice after school at Diamond today. The freshman
baseball team has a home game today at Kauffman against Medina. Game time is
4:30.

RESULTS FROM THE SPRING BLOOD DRIVE:
The numbers are in, and the St. Edward Community donated a total of 63 pints
of blood at our Spring Blood Drive last week. As you many know, each pint
of blood saves 3 lives, so St. Ed's saved 189 lives in just 8 hours. A big
thanks from Mr. Wanner, on behalf of the Service Club, to everyone who
donated and to the students and faculty who volunteered to work that day.

A message for students who donated at last week's blood drive: If you gave
blood but left your free Red Cross t-shirt down at the blood drive, Mr.
Wanner has all the extra shirts in his office. If you need one, please stop
by and pick one up.

yesterday. The freshmen game has been cancelled. There will be no practice

Congratulations the JV defeated Ignatius 9-6 yesterday. The varsity and j.v.
baseball teams face St. Ignatius today at Northern Ohio.

INTRAMURALS

VOLLEYBALL
Tonight in the main gym the St. Edward Volleyball Team host the visiting
Warriors of Walsh, come out and support your team as we take on Walsh

A big congratulations to St. Edward Alumnus Haruki Nakamura, on being
drafted by the Ravens in the 6th Round over the weekend. Haruki was informed
of his selection by St. Edward grad, Mr. Kevin Byrne, Vice President in the
Ravens organization.

Will Brendan Nagle, Nick Nelson, Nori Bodle and Kevin Carlin report to the
Nurse’s clinic at this time.
