St. Edward High School is seeking an exceptional writer and strategic storyteller to help shape the voice of one of the country’s premier Catholic boys' schools. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications, the Communications Manager plays a key role in bringing the mission of St. Edward to life through compelling, consistent, and polished messaging across all platforms.

Position Description: This tech-savvy and detail-driven communicator will write, edit, and distribute content that engages current families, prospective families, alumni, and donors—serving as both a creative force and a guardian of the school’s brand voice.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging, audience-specific written content for web, print, email, social media, advertising, video scripts, and more
  • Serve as lead editor and proofreader for all mass communications, ensuring clarity, tone, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines
  • Translate the school’s values and priorities into compelling stories and persuasive calls to action
  • Manage and deploy email communications using Mailchimp and Blackbaud, maintaining segmented lists and analyzing performance
  • Partner with colleagues to build a strategic communications calendar that supports institutional priorities and audience engagement
  • Maintain the school’s website, updating content including news articles, homepage banners, registration pages, and online calendars
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure that the student and parent portal reflects up-to-date and accessible information
  • Provide creative support across departments—snapping photos, proofreading programs, drafting event recaps, and more as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field
  • At least 5 years of professional writing/editing experience, ideally in a marketing, nonprofit, or education setting
  • Impeccable writing skills with a sharp editorial eye and mastery of grammar, tone, and voice
  • Demonstrated ability to write persuasively for different audiences and platforms
  • Experience in content strategy and storytelling, especially in service of a mission-driven organization
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple projects on tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with Mailchimp, Blackbaud, CMS platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • A portfolio of writing samples that showcase range and clarity should be submitted with resume
