Science Tutor
PART-TIME
WORK HOURS: 11:45 a.m.–3:45 p.m.
St. Edward High School has an opportunity available for an experienced science educator to provide tutoring in all aspects of science learning. In this part-time role you will:
- Provide individual and small group tutoring to students.
- Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills.
- Review class materials with students, discuss the text, lab work and homework assignments.
- Assist student with exam preparation and possibly project completion.
- Formulating ideas for working on solutions to problems the student exhibits.
- Keep notes on student’s progress to share with science faculty, counselor and possibly parents.
The science tutor works closely with Counselors, Science Faculty and as needed the Intervention team.
Qualified applicants will:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with some teaching or tutoring experience
- Be an effective communicator
- Show proven ability and willingness to work with a diverse group of students engaging with students at the level they need to comprehend the subject matter
- Possess the willingness and ability to support the Mission of St. Edward High School
