St. Edward High School invites all boys who are in the 8th grade during the 2022-2023 school year -- and who will be enrolled in an Algebra I program at their schools -- to participate in the St. Ed's Algebra Enrichment Program.
Information regarding the program is below, or you may call the St. Edward Office of Admission at 216-521-2204.
Why is St. Edward offering an Algebra Enrichment Program for 8th grade boys?
The St. Edward 8th Grade Algebra Enrichment is designed to assist students in securing the strongest possible foundation in algebra in order to take total advantage of the high school math curriculum with sights toward successful completion of IB Math HL or AP Calculus BC as a high school senior.
Who is the program designed for?
The St. Edward 8th Grade Algebra Enrichment is designed for strong math students who will be enrolled in Algebra I at their middle school during the 8th grade year.
What will the program entail?
The program will focus on intensive quarterly enrichment combined with assessment and detailed feedback from St. Ed’s Dean of Academics Mr. Dan Corcoran '07. The focus on the intensive quarterly sessions is to ensure participants are progressing in a way that has them on track to be successful in Honors Algebra II as freshmen.
Participants will meet online with Mr. Corcoran ’07 and other students in the program two times each academic quarter for approximately 30 minutes each. The online sessions will include a review of topics that should have been mastered up to that point in the curriculum, based on the St. Edward Algebra Curriculum and State of Ohio Standards, as well as an opportunity for students to ask questions. In addition, students will receive a series of video presentations from Mr. Corcoran ’07 throughout the designated week each quarter with topics and lessons to apply math concepts to the real world and to provide students with an opportunity to answer problems through a discussion board. Most students can expect to work on Algebra Enrichment for approximately 3-4 hours during each of the four scheduled weeks.

Is there a cost?
Yes. The cost is $150 per student, but each student who enrolls in the St. Edward Algebra Enrichment Program and who also enrolls at St. Edward High School in the Class of 2027 will receive a $150 credit on his tuition account. The class is limited to 35 students.
Why is there a cost?
Because demand for the program is high and space is limited, the fee is meant to help ensure that students stay engaged for the entire length of the program.
How do I register?
Students are required to be taking Algebra I concurrently with this enrichment program. Students who meet that requirement will earn a spot on a first-come, first-served basis. To register and pay the required fee, please complete the form below.
