BALDRIDGE READING &
STUDY SKILLS PROGRAM
Dear Parents and Guardians:
As our students prepare for the rigors of college, we want to make available every opportunity for them to enhance their academic achievement. This fall, we have a nationally recognized study strategies course coming to St. Edward High School. The Baldridge Reading and Study Strategy Program teaches a range of skills to improve student performance.
The Baldridge course has been offered at challenging high schools and colleges around the nation for over 60 years. An instructor from Baldridge will be at St. Edward during the week of November 9, 2020. Students will learn study strategies designed to increase reading speed and improve recall. Students will use their own textbooks to practice these new strategies and help increase their reading speed.
Students with different academic challenges can benefit from the course. Those with AP, IB, or honors courses will reduce reading time and increase their grasp of material. Students who want grades that reflect their true ability level will learn to master material and those who struggle with studying will acquire productive techniques to learn more easily.
Students who previously took the program may repeat the course at no charge if they want to review and further enhance their skills.
The 5-day program will run from Monday, November 9, 2020 through Friday, November 13, 2020. The course will meet in room 104 and a class lasts for 75 minutes. Class time is 4:00pm to 5:15p.m. There is also a virtual class offered at 4:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m.; or 7:00 p.m.
Here is a link to the course registration form. If you have difficulty opening it, let me know.
The cost for the five-day Baldridge Reading and Study Strategy Program is $164.00. Payment should be sent in with the registration form directly to the Baldridge Program. Payment should not be made out to St. Edward.
The class is expected to fill up quickly. Should health events warrant, the Baldridge Reading & Study Skills Program is prepared and equipped to deliver instruction remotely via their virtual classroom.
Contact Baldridge Reading and Study Program directly with any questions. Mr. David Hungerford is the instructor and his email is brssmid@msn.com
