EDSMEN VOLUNTEER TO MAKE MEDICAL DEVICES FOR PATIENTS AROUND THE WORLD Over spring break, Jason Picha '21 and a few fellow Edsmen stepped up to volunteer in helping make medical devices to support the nutrition of thousands of patients around the world. Jason's father, George Picha M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.S., founder and CEO of Applied Medical Technology, Inc. (AMT), mentioned to Jason the need for additional help in making enteral feeding devices and surgical products for patients in need during the COVID-19 crisis. STUDENT ENTREPRENEUR CREATES FUNCTIONAL & PRACTICAL HYBRID PRODUCT TO HELP EDSMEN FOLLOW DRESS CODE Brendan Smith '23 joined St. Ed's Entrepreneurship Club in fall 2019 and has since been working on creating a hybrid product to help Edsman follow the dress code and always don a perfectly tied tie while also creating a product that's easier and more comfortable to wear and remove. This product makes it easier for users to wear a tie without having to tie it yourself while also initiating a call to action to practice workplace safety when wearing formal attire.
