CONCERT BAND

CONCERT BAND AT ST. ED'S

Our Symphonic Band is offered after school three days a week and begins in November.  Students will rehearse and perform high quality concert repertoire at three concerts during the spring semester as well as an adjudicated performance in March held by the Ohio Music Education Association.  Performance-based trips are also part of the Symphonic Band, averaging one every two years.  Students will earn ½ credit for participating in the Symphonic Band throughout the semester including the O.M.E.A. Adjudicated Performance. The attendance policy can be found here: (www.sehs.net/band-attendance-policy)

The Concert Band is a class that meets as part of the school day and is a place for students to either learn a new instrument or brush up on their skills in an instrument they already play. Students will be encouraged to participate in Solo and Ensemble Adjudication and the Novice Band will perform as a group in concert and at local performances when instrumentation allows.  Students earn a full credit for participation in Concert Band

There is no prior experience necessary to be a member of either Concert ensemble, but students should be able to play their instrument at a high school level in order to fully participate in the Symphonic Band.  Students als have the option to take Symphonic Band as a pass/fail class.
