Tuition & Scholarships

Our goal is to meet the needs of every family who enters our doors!

Through merit scholarships, need-based financial aid, or state funding, 100% of St. Edward families are offered a discounted tuition package. Tuition for the 2023-2024 school year is $19,350, with a $250 technology fee. Next year’s tuition will be announced in the spring.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, St. Edward is able to offer need-based tuition assistance. FACTS, a third-party company, assesses each family’s financial need. This online process requires federal tax forms and W2s. Click here for instructions.

Families can utilize one of the Ohio Department of Education scholarships, a merit scholarship, or a music scholarship in addition to financial aid. The Diocese of Cleveland also awards need-based financial aid (DTA) with the FACTS application. Once you submit your FACTS application for St. Edward financial aid, simply log back into FACTS and opt into the Diocesan Tuition Assistance program by answering a few additional questions. The first round deadline to be considered for DTA is March 1. The second round and final date to file is May 1.

St. Edward offers music scholarships for incoming freshmen interested in pursuing music in high school. This $1,500 award is earned through an application and audition. It is annually renewable, provided students participate in instrumental/vocal music as a member of one of the following ensembles:

Marching Band (fall) and Symphonic Band (winter and spring) - Both groups rehearse after school.
Orchestra - Orchestra meets all year as a class period, as well as rehearses before school twice a week.
Choir - Choir meets all year as a class period, as well as rehearses after school twice a week.

To be considered for this scholarship, students must fill out this brief online form before November 28. A member of the performing arts department will then schedule the student’s audition in December. Auditions consist of a solo (3–5 minutes in length), scales, vocal exercises, rudiments, or sight-reading. For additional information or questions, call the Performing Arts Office at 216.221.0793.

St. Edward offers annually renewable, merit-based scholarships to students who earn superior composite scores on the High School Placement Test. Students who score in the top tenth percentile nationally automatically qualify for the following tuition reduction:

97–99	$6,000

90–92	$1,000

Merit-based scholarships are annually renewable, provided the student maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 and a minimum semester GPA of 3.0. Students are able to apply for need-based financial aid in addition to earning a merit scholarship.

Ohio Department of Education Scholarships

We are thrilled to announce that with the expansion of EdChoice, scholarships are now available for every family.

Students can only receive one Ohio Department of Education scholarship, however, merit scholarships and need-based financial aid can also reduce tuition.

St. Edward High School is a provider for both the EdChoice Traditional and EdChoice Expansion Scholarship. EdChoice Expansion is a new scholarship program, through the Ohio Department of Education, that allows any student in Ohio to access funding for private school tuition. Awards vary from $950–$8,408 depending on household income.

Ohio Department of Education’s Peterson Scholarship is exclusively for students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Award amounts are based on the category of disability as identified on the student’s ETR and vary from $8,941–$30,000.
