IB STUDENT ACADEMIC COUNCIL

"I was worried about joining the IB Program, which is filled with students I wouldn't necessarily describe as similar to me. As a minority, I have come to find that all of my assumptions were completely wrong. I have become brothers with people who are different than me through the brotherhood experience and culture at St. Ed's. Not only am I comfortable and able to be myself, but I'm also learning while and sharing perspectives with others that are helping me mature. On top of that, I take classes with other minorities which make us all closer because we know that we are in this together and that we are doing something special."

IB STUDENT ACADEMIC COUNCIL

"Over the past few months that I've officially been in the IB Program, I've seen myself grow exponentially as a learner. I've learned how to think in multiple different ways, to take on the ideas and perspectives of others. That has helped me understand why certain people do the things that they do and why they believe what they believe. Being in IB has opened me up to new ideas and ways of knowing that I never would have even considered or thought about before. I've also learned how to become a better student overall in areas like time management, organization, and learning how to communicate with both my teachers and fellow students."

IB DIPLOMA STUDENT

"The IB program definitely humbled me and shifted my perspective on learning. At first, I was gauging my worth in the classroom through my grades and test scores, but I quickly realized that school is much more than grades. I discovered what a great group of guys I had around me, and how the discoveries we could make trumped what we create as individuals. One of my most memorable IB moments was our Lebron vs. M.J. debate during Theory of Knowledge. I enjoyed applying the terms we learned in class - subjectivity, bias, and validity - to a subject outside of school. It was great to see the basketball fanatics in our cohort toss ideas back and forth, and was surprised to see students, who I didn't even know watched basketball, analyze the claims we made in the debate. The beauty in working and conversing with a well-rounded group of people is they can always challenge you..."

St. Ed's IB Diploma Program connects students of all backgrounds and interests. Beyond the classroom, students are connected in more ways than one outside of the IB Diploma Program from athletics, academic, and the arts to service, spiritual and leadership opportunities. See below how our IB students are interconnected at St. Ed's and hear their own reflections on their IB experiences.
