St. Edward Announced New Principal, Mr. KC McKenna '00

Dear St. Edward Community,

I am excited to announce that Mr. KC McKenna ‘00 will be our next principal at St. Edward High School - the 15th principal in our almost 70-year history. I want to thank the search committee of administrators, faculty and members of the board of trustees who thoughtfully helped me conduct a thorough and broad search process over the past two months. Mr. McKenna will assume his new role on July 1, 2019.

Mr. McKenna has served the St. Edward community well in a variety of roles since 2007, most recently as Vice President of Admission and Strategic Initiatives where he has led an extensive, community-wide strategic planning process that will serve as the architecture for the school’s advancement in areas critical to our continued success: Holy Cross identity and culture, teaching and learning, student and faculty experience, diversity and inclusion, and financial sustainability. We are excited to unveil a complete plan prior to the new school year in August.

Our vision for the future is clear - we intend to be the best high school in the world at the intersection of Holy Cross values, exceptional college preparation, and a commitment to innovation and teaching to the future. In his 12 years at St. Ed’s, Mr. McKenna has demonstrated proven leadership in each of these critical areas, from developing student recruitment experiences that are authentically Holy Cross, to working alongside academic leadership to continue to refine both approach and operations to create differentiated academic and co-curricular experiences, as well as developing programs and platforms that help to drive our culture of innovation.

Working in partnership with our talented team of faculty, staff and administrators, Mr. McKenna’s strategic thinking, intimate understanding of school operations, and love for the St. Edward community will help us bring our vision to life and enhance the faith formation, personal excellence, relationships, and commitment to servant leadership that we seek to instill in each of the students entrusted to our care.
