BRING A TOY, SPREAD SOME JOY: ST. ED'S WORKS WITH CLEVELAND CLINIC TO HOST LENTEN TOY DRIVE

To give back to the community and spread joy throughout this Lenten season, St. Ed's Student Ministers have organized a "Bring a Toy, Spread Some Joy" Toy Drive to benefit the Cleveland Clinic Children's Child Life Program. Spearheaded by John Shultz '22, our Student Ministers encourage the St. Ed's community to participate in this Lenten toy drive and donate toys to children currently receiving care through the Cleveland Clinic.

"Most people never think about what it would be like to be in the hospital for an extended period of time. Many people may come in extremely unprepared and, due to the cost of the hospital stay, they may not have the ability to buy new toys to keep children entertained," says John. "This drive will allow us to give to those who are in need and help them in a time they may not have expected to be in. I think that St. Ed's is the perfect place to do this because of the amount of success we have with all our drives and how our community always rallies together." To focus on the spiritual practice of almsgiving and answering the call to stand "Side by Side" with all people, this virtual toy drive will help brighten the days of these children in need and bring our community together to give back in a safe way during the pandemic.
