ST. ED'S COMMUNITY HONORS OUR "SHE-ROES" AND CELEBRATES WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

Throughout the month of March, St. Ed's has paid homage to female leaders both in history and in our community by donning new T-shirts designed for Women's History Month. During this month's morning announcements, Emerson Gray '21 has shared inspirational quotes and acts of leadership from empowering women in history, from Rosa Parks, Michelle Obama, and Jane Goodall to Oprah Winfrey, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and Malala Yousafzai. "We were intentional to honor a diverse group of women, our she-roes, who have made important contributions to history," says VP of Equity and Inclusion James Knight. "With purple being the color for Women's History Month, we thought it'd be cool to honor the women in our community by wearing a newly designed, purple St. Ed's shirt to show our appreciation for all that they do."

Women's History Month at St. Ed's will end with a community-wide reflection exercise where students, faculty, and staff will be invited to take a "She-roes" card and share their appreciation for the women at St. Ed's who have inspired, encouraged, and supported the community. "Although St. Ed's is an all-boys school, we can't do enough to honor the women in our lives who have made our success possible," says Mr. Knight. "For us, it's important for our students and colleagues to recognize and show their gratitude to the women in our building who make St. Ed's a thriving community where we all can belong."
