Best of the Week 2021-2022: Excellence in College Prep

St. Ed's Model UN Team made history at this year's CCWA Autumn Model UN Conference, the first in-person Model UN conference to be held in all of Ohio since the CLEIMUN21 Conference in February 2020. For many of our Model UN members, this was their first in-person experience in the MUN universe, with 20 Edsman delegates representing St. Edward High School this year. Eric Vaziri '23 and Lukas Kucera '24 both won Best Delegate Gavel Awards (the top award possible to achieve) while Position Paper Awards were granted to Kucera, Baird Bracken '24, Will Garland '25, and Nathan Sinchak '25. Sam Clemente '23 and Aiden Bruder '24 also took home Highly Commended Delegate Awards.

"It was very gratifying indeed to see the positive progress made by our Edsmen Model UN members after a considerable amount of targeted preparation, both during the Model UN 1 Elective course and the Model UN Club Training Sessions held during Community Period," says Model UN Moderator and Director of International Programs Michael Perrins. "The effort, planning and drive for higher standards and the hard work of our team to meet deadlines has paid off for our Model UN team, who is clearly growing in their understanding of global issues, pragmatic life skills, proper researching techniques, and time management. There is much more to be done, but of progress, there is plenty to see!" Next week, 35 Model UN members from St. Ed's (29 as Delegates and six as Committee Chairs) will participate in the CCWA Winter Model UN Conference at Lorain County Community College. Good luck to St. Ed's Model UN Team on their next endeavors!
