STUDENTS TAKE FIELD TRIP TO SEE ST. ANDRE SCHOOL ALUM IN ACTION

After crushing their goals for the Custom St. Ed's Cutting Board Sale and raising $14,000 to support the St. Andre Scholars Program, the St. Andre Scholars were rewarded with a trip to a Cleveland Charge game. Not only were students able to enjoy a day off-campus with fellow classmates, but they also reunited with St. Andre Scholar alum Liam McIlwee '21 who works as a game day attendant for Cleveland Charge. After graduation, Liam interned with the Baldwin Wallace football team, currently works with the Cleveland Charge, and will be a member of the Cleveland Guardians grounds crew this summer.

"This field trip was a great reward for all our students' hard work that went into the cutting board sales. They worked throughout the Christmas season alongside our Business and Entrepreneurship department to package products, read order sheets, increase sales and reach our final goal. And this year's sale was the most successful one yet," says Director of St. Andre Scholars Renee Zorger. "It was also great to see one of our alums in action at his job!" The field trip also served as an inaugural event for the St. Andre Scholar Buddy program. "Many students in the St. Andre Scholars Program struggle with social situations and we seek to find authentic ways to build relationships," says Mrs. Zorger. Led by Seamus McGinty '23, five juniors joined the St. Andre Scholars on their field trip to grow their relationship, support our alums, and cheer on the Cleveland Charge.
