Best of the Week 2021-2022: Holy Cross Values

ST. ED'S 2021-2022 THEME EMPOWERS THE COMMUNITY TO LIVE OUT OUR MISSION "WITH EYES OF FAITH"

At the very heart of the Christian message is the proclamation that God humbled Himself and became human; to be with us and invite us into relationship with Him (Philippians 2:5-8). The message of the Gospel is, at its core, about a relationship between God and humanity. Similarly, a central pillar of our Holy Cross Mission is a call to build relationships rooted in that same Lord’s love and a commitment to that same spirit of humility. As a Holy Cross community, we are guided by our mission. Each school year, our community selects a theme to guide us, and to remind us of our Holy Cross mission, and to highlight one of the four pillars of our mission: Faith, Excellence, Relationships and Servant Leadership. For this school year, we are focusing on the pillar of Excellence. What does it mean to be excellent as a Holy Cross Community? It means to live out the mission that God has entrusted us with. And it means that we will live in a way that is guided by our faith, trusting that God will be with as we walk with God this year. As the Holy Cross Constitutions remind us, “Our mission is the Lord’s and so is the strength for it.” As we begin this school year, we look forward "With Eyes of Faith," looking for ways to serve God and each other as we live out our Holy Cross Mission together. "With eyes of faith consider the greatness of your mission and the wonderful amount of good which you can accomplish." - Blessed Basil Moreau
