ST. ED'S SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY CHAPTER WELCOMES NEW INDUCTEES

This week, St. Ed's celebrated the tenth annual induction ceremony for La Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica (the Spanish Honor Society) with the initiation of this year's newest inductees who have a deep interest in the Spanish language. The Spanish Honor Society, which was founded by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese in 1953 for North American secondary schools, was brought to St. Ed's in 2014 under the chapter name, "El Sagrada Familia," meaning "the Sacred Family."

Current Spanish Honor Society member Samuel Clemente '23 produced the following video, that was shared during Thursday night's ceremony, asking fellow members of the Spanish Honor Society and teachers what they value in learning a foreign language: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW4-0ZoGp1o&t=2s

"What I love most about the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica is getting the chance to work with students who enjoy language learning and providing them with even more opportunities to learn about culture," says Spanish teacher and Spanish Honor Society moderator Sherie Quinn. Following the motto, "All together," the St. Edward community recognizes the accomplishments of this year's Spanish Honor Society inductees: Mitchell Klein '23, Robert Torres '23, Francisco Carney '24, Daniel Certo '24, Justin Kenney '24, Cooper Meneghetti '24, Kyle Quinn '24, Jayden Williams '24, Boden Grant '25, Angel Hillsman '25, and Evan Manfred '25.
