Best of the Week 2022-2023: Holy Cross Values

ST. ED'S IS "MADE NEW" WITH THE 2022-2023 THEME CENTERED ON FAITH

St. Ed's enters into a new school year with "Made New" as our central theme, serving as our starting point, guidepost and lighted beacon in everything that we do this year. The inspiration for this year's theme came from Pope Francis' recent apostolic exhortation Fratelli tutti and our strong roots in the Holy Cross Constitutions.

"I could write pages about 'Made New' and how much I love it! The Pope calls each of us to the joy of a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, and Constitution 2 provides us with a beautiful roadmap of sorts that is rooted in our mission as a Holy Cross educational community," says VP of Faith, Mission and Culture Owen Williams '13. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be made new each day in the Lord's tender love. It's been amazing to see the ways in which our community has already embraced 'Made New' in their own ways. Every member of our community contributes something beautiful and essential to our mission; I hope this theme serves as a daily reminder that there is no failure the Lord's love cannot reserve and no humiliation God cannot exchange for blessing. All is swallowed up in victory."

Our commitment to making all things new in faith extends all the way back to 1837, when Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C. and Father Jacques Dujarie brought auxiliary priests and the Brothers of St. Joseph together to found the Congregation of Holy Cross. We welcome this new school year with a zealous spirit of being "Made New" in the Lord's love and to live out the words of the Holy Cross Constitutions.
