IB BUSINESS MANAGEMENT STUDENTS TAKE ON THINKFEST! AT JCU

Students from the IB Business Management program participated in last week's Veale Foundation ThinkFest! at John Carroll University. Headlined by guest speaker Jeff Stamp, creator and inventor of favorite snacks from Frosted Cheerios to Dunkaroo cookies and Baked Lays potato chips, this year's ThinkFest! welcomed St. Ed's and 10 other local schools to network and collaborate through various group exercises.

Ukize Nshungu '23 gave a presentation that was the first of its kind, inventing a new word to describe a product invention that had never been used in the 4,000 students who've participated in this exercise. Jay Williams '24 was given the "Best Individual Pitch" award from Jeff Stamp himself for giving an impromptu elevator pitch for his group's invention, the "Survival Water Filter."

"My favorite part of the Thinkfest experience was getting to meet Jeff Stamp and learning how he started his business," says Ukize. "This opportunity allowed me to apply the concepts we've learned in our IB class and take a different look at inventing, creating, and bringing new ideas to life through collaboration."
