The Counseling Office offers the following services:
St. Edward counselors develop and deliver these services in accordance with the American School Counselor Association National Model. A crucial part of their role involves effective communication and coordination with parents, faculty, staff, intervention specialists, the school nurse, and administrators to ensure comprehensive student support.
Academic Guidance
Students work with their school counselor to select the appropriate classes each academic year. The counseling staff leads group presentations to help students develop career goals and identify colleges that align with those goals. They also introduce Naviance, a digital platform used for career research, college selection, and life readiness.
Mental Health Support
School counselors guide students toward healthy social-emotional well-being through individual meetings and referrals to outside resources when intensive help is needed. The counseling staff offers various programs throughout the school year to promote mental health, covering topics such as suicide prevention, mindfulness, and more.
