
COVID-19 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR SKILL TRAINING
We are moving forward with our planning for our St. Edward 2021 Camps. We have reviewed the mandatory regulations and recommended best practices that were released by Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health regarding youth camps, and we know that we can meet all of the protocols for safety while delivering a fun, quality camp experience.
We have provided the updated COVID-19 Safety Requirements for Camps and COVID-19 Safety Requirements for Skills Training (below).
COVID-19 Requirements for Skill Training
Mandatory Safety Requirements For Participants & Parents/Guardians (Skill Training)

Student-athletes and parents/guardians must do a self-symptom check before going to the training session or practice. Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home. Anyone who develops symptoms during camp must go home. Symptoms include cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell.

Student-athletes will arrive no sooner than 10 minutes prior to the start of their training session and will wait outside on the turf field until further instruction has been provided.

Student-athletes will be required to wash their hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds upon arrival of their scheduled training session, during the session, and at the conclusion of the session before going home.

Everyone in attendance must stay 6 feet apart at all times.

Parents/guardians who choose to remain on campus will not be permitted in the building. Parents/guardians are permitted to observe skills training outside, however, they must remain in their vehicle.

No-touch rule is in effect. All individuals must avoid physical contact with others including high fives, huddles, or other close contact occurring before, during, and after skills sessions unless the contact is for the purpose of safety.

Student-athletes will be required to bring their own water bottles and not share water bottles.

Student-athletes will be required to arrive in appropriate apparel / gear and immediately return home to shower and clean clothes. Additionally, student-athletes are not permitted to bring any additional items (such as backpacks, change of clothes, etc.) into the building. Locker Rooms will only be used for toileting.
Mandatory Requirements For Coaches (Skill Training)

Coaches must do a self-symptom check before going to the training session or practice. Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home. Anyone who develops symptoms during camp must go home.

Wash hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds prior to beginning activity.

Coaches or designee will be required to take temperatures of all student-athlete participants prior to skill training session beginning. If temperature is 100 degrees or higher, or if they are experiencing any symptoms, the student-athlete will be required to return home and not return until they are symptom-free and fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medication.

Coaches will be responsible for submitting a roster to the Athletic Director of ALL individuals present at each session.

Coaches will be responsible for monitoring symptoms of ALL participants prior to each workout.

Symptom check will be recorded by the coach and submitted to Athletic Director daily to maintain and assure compliance.

Disinfected equipment will be recorded by the coach and submitted to Athletic Director daily to maintain and assure compliance.

Coaches must designate space to ensure and maintain 6-foot distancing at ALL times.
Mandatory Sanitation Requirements

Portable handwashing stations will be provided to student-athletes and coaches for them to wash their hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds prior to skill training session beginning and before leaving for home.

Hand sanitizer will be provided to student-athletes and coaches at each station.

At the conclusion of each team’s training session all equipment and surfaces that have been used or had the potential of being used will be disinfected. This includes, but not limited to:

Weight Room - Specific stations, benches, bars and dumbbells.

Basketball courts or the turf field - Specific pads, balls or cones used during training and or practice.

Areas of egress including doors and doorframes.

Locker rooms

Portable handwashing stations

Mandatory Signage Requirements

In entry, post signs requiring social distancing, face coverings, and other safety requirements.

Post reminder signage for handwashing, sanitization of equipment, distancing, etc.
Mandatory Process For Confirmed Cases

Immediately isolate and seek medical care for any individual who develops symptoms.

Contact and cooperate with the local health district about suspected cases or exposure.

Safety, isolation, contact tracing, and sanitation protocols will be followed
