VIRTUAL BAND PROJECT
ST. EDWARD ALMA MATER VIRTUAL BAND PROJECT
As we all continue to practice social distancing, many have found ways to make music together while being apart. The St. Edward Alma Mater Virtual Band Project is an opportunity for the St. Edward Band community to come together and make music virtually.
Record a video of yourself playing "your part" to the St. Ed's Alma Mater and then submit to Mr. Angelo Kortyka, Associate Director of Performing Arts, at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may record more than one part as well if you are able to do so. Mr. Kortyka will compile all video submissions together into a virtual band performance.
Download the .pdf for your part and practice it - don’t just focus on right notes and rhythms- also check your intonation and timing with the play along recording.
When you’re ready to record, record a video of yourself playing along with the play-along mp3 provided. Use headphones so the mp3 doesn’t show up in your video.
Send the video (mp4 format preferred) to email@example.com. If the file is too large, you can share it via Google drive or Dropbox.
See the attached pdf files for specific instructions, parts, and play-along files.
All current and former members of the St. Edward High School Band are welcome to participate. When you submit your recording, please make sure to include your year of graduation (SJA and Mags students, be sure to indicate your alma mater) and first and last name in your submission. Submissions are due May 25, 2020.Please share this opportunity with other alumni or band members!
