Per Ohio Department of Health requirements  all ninth and eleventh grade students will get screened for vision and hearing. If your child does not pass the vision/hearing screening, the school nurse  will send a letter to share the results and may make a recommendation for further evaluation by a specialist. If you have any questions or prefer to opt your child out of this process please contact the school nurse clinic.

If you should choose opt-out of any part of the school vision and hearing screening, a written request will need to be provided to the school building's nurse or administrator. The waiver to exclude the child needs to be renewed each school year or the child's vision and/or hearing may be screened/monitored as mandated by the Ohio Department of Health guidelines for school vision & hearing screenings.
