Programming, robotics, and game design camps for boys and girls entering grades 7 and 8
Get ready for a summer full of discovery and creativity with our exciting Tech EDventures!
Whether our campers dream of building circuits, designing robots, or creating their own video games, we have a camp just for them! The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers three distinct half-day sessions for boys and girls entering grades 7 and 8. Sign up for one, or register for all three!
Programming Session
Monday through Friday, June 9–13, 12:30–3 p.m.
Join our computer science faculty for a deep dive into the dynamic world of Arduino microcontrollers. The session's collaborative projects and innovative challenges are designed to build an understanding of circuit design, electronics, and embedded system programming. All levels of experience are welcome.
Robotics Session
Monday through Friday, June 16–20, 12:30–3 p.m.
Campers will dive into the interactive world of robotics in this fun and competitive session. Led by coaches of St. Edward’s award-winning robotics team, activities will develop an understanding of components, such as sensors, actuators, controllers, circuits, gears, motors, and more. Register and gain hands-on experience in this exciting sport, as well as a lasting interest in STEM! All levels of experience are welcome.
Game Design Session
Monday through Friday, June 23–27, 12:30–3 p.m.
From character modeling to game logic and more, our expert computer science faculty will guide participants through the process of programming their very own video game. Campers will learn to use Unity, a popular development platform, and can take their projects home to continue their work independently. All levels of experience are welcome.
Early-bird rate: $150 per session
Starting March 1, the price increases to $200 per session. Space is limited, so register right away!
Note: Campers who spend their morning at Get the Edge! are welcome to bring a lunch, eat with friends, and then finish up their afternoon at tech camps.
