In accordance with our Holy Cross mission, the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging works tirelessly to ensure every student feels valued and included.

The Student Diversity Association

The Student Diversity Association promotes understanding and acceptance of all identities. Through a wide variety of programming and initiatives, the group creates and sustains an inclusive environment of mutual respect, hospitality, and warmth, ensuring that none are strangers and all may flourish.

Programming

  • Town Hall discussions on equity and justice
  • Partnerships with the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio for retreats and student leadership conferences
  • The Defamation Experience, an interactive program for engaging in civil discourse about pressing social issues
  • Annual Martin Luther King Jr. prayer service, celebrating Dr. King's legacy with guest speakers and student discussions
  • Faculty diversity committee
  • Diversity training for all employees

Student Affinity Groups

Affinity groups at St. Edward bring together individuals who share important commonalities. These groups foster community building, issue identification, success sharing, idea promotion, and cross-cultural dialogue preparation, providing opportunities for affirmation and celebration.

  • AAPID: The Asian-American, Pacific Islander, or Desi group explores and celebrates these rich heritages, fostering cultural appreciation.
  • Muslim Student Association: The Muslim Student Association fosters understanding and community by sharing the Islamic faith.
  • PRISM: PRISM supports the LGBTQ+ community and their allies, promoting dignity and love for all.
  • Spanish Club: The Spanish and Latino Student Association celebrates Hispanic culture through engaging monthly activities.
