Director of Student Life
Reports to: Vice President of Faith, Mission, & Culture
Status: Full-time, 12 month position
Position Description: The Director of Student Life is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and supporting all co-curricular activities at St. Edward High School. The director oversees the school’s house system, student activities, and student participation. The director also maintains and builds student engagement through experiences and opportunities outside of the classroom.

Essential Job Duties:
- Faculty Moderators/Supervision
- Assigns faculty moderators to all co-curricular programming
- Develops and disseminates a moderator handbook
- Organizes faculty supervision schedule for co-curricular SEHS events in conjunction with Principal and Dean of Men
- Coordinate event supervision and communicate expectations to employee supervisors
- Attends or designates a proxy to supervise SEHS events
- Hosts quarterly moderators meetings
- House System:
- Coordinates the house system with the house deans and student leaders, including subcommittees
- Coordinates school spirit events such as spirit weeks, sports rallies, and student/faculty competitions
- Runs student leader elections
- Collaborates as part of Student Life team to support initiatives from the Campus Ministry team, Service and Outreach, and more
- Promotes school spirit for athletic and non-athletic activities
- Coordinates and supervises student section for sporting events in coordination with the Principal and Dean of Men
- Assists in planning and coordination of house events such as dances, assemblies, intramural sports, and more
- Works with Director of Campus Ministry for house retreats
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree in education, intervention, psychology, or a related field required
- Successful experience working with high school students, especially in leadership training and coordination of schoolwide social and service events
- Experience working in the Holy Cross community, or a desire to learn about Holy Cross spirituality, and the educational philosophy of the Congregation of Holy Cross
- Ability to enforce the school’s mission and policies while showing professionalism and respect to the students, ensuring all students feel a sense of belonging
- Proven ability to de-escalate severe, tense, and uncomfortable situations
- Exemplary follow-through and organizational skills
