Position Description: Leads the planning, coordination, and implementation of all global initiatives for students, and when appropriate, their families. Grounded in the mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross, the director plans and participates in international travel opportunities, exchange programs, cultural immersions, and Model United Nations (MUN) events.

Mission: St. Edward High School educates the hearts and minds of a diverse group of young men to have the competence to see and the courage to act as men of hope and faith for the transformation of the world.

Goals: Saint Edward High School, an International Baccalaureate World School, encourages students to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners with international awareness.

Responsibilities:

  • Sources and leverages a diverse global network of contacts to provide worldwide educational opportunities for students, with the goal of gaining practical, hands-on experience, global awareness, and an empathetic understanding of different cultures and lifestyles.
  • Builds relationships with international partners who provide insight into cultural experiences, daily life, and social norms across the globe.
  • Coordinates international travel programs, including logistics, risk management, and student supervision.
  • Promotes cultural awareness through school-wide events, activities, and staff professional development.
  • Manages the school’s international programs budget and provides supporting documentation for all expenses, as required.
  • Teaches two classes per semester.
  • Collaborates with academic departments to integrate global perspectives into the school’s curriculum.
  • Creates and leads committees and student groups related to global education.
  • Creates and maintains an International Programs Handbook for students, parents, and staff, outlining processes and operational responsibilities for all individuals involved in international travel.
  • Ensures all required international travel documentation is completed and properly filed, including medical forms and vaccination records, as needed.
  • Coordinates and leads the Model United Nations (MUN) program for St. Edward, including recruiting students, preparing them for competition, attending regional and international conferences, hosting MUN events, and overseeing all aspects of a successful MUN experience.

Qualifications:

  • State of Ohio Teaching License or Non-Tax Ohio Department of Education License
  • Experience working in international education in a lead planning capacity
  • Demonstrated understanding of international student support, cultural transitions, and global education trends
  • Excellent communication skills with strong follow-through
  • Proven relationship builder and negotiator
  • Experience working with high-school-aged students
