Math Teacher (Grades 9-12)

Position Description

Long-term substitute teacher to cover a leave beginning in mid-August through mid-October 2026. Assignment includes teaching Honors Algebra 2.

Duties

• Teaches full-time, including five class periods (60 minutes each on a rotating schedule) and an advisory group.
• Follows the course objectives of the St. Edward curriculum.
• Works collaboratively with fellow teachers to design and deliver authentic instruction and assess mathematical skills.
• Maintains classroom management and student behavior in a manner that allows all students the opportunity to learn.
• Works directly with team teachers to provide assistance and support for struggling students.
• Communicates with counselors, learning professionals, parents, and students to maintain a positive learning experience and identify any problems or difficulties.
• Communicates with parents and students by posting lesson plans and grades regularly in PowerSchool, in accordance with contract specifications.
• Maintains flexible hours within contract specifications, providing time before or after school for additional help, individualized instruction, mentoring, or guidance on independent projects.

Qualifications

• State of Ohio license in Mathematics or a non-tax teaching certificate.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Proven teaching or instructional experience.
• Successful criminal background check.
