Spanish hasn’t simply been a subject for Ethan Saurwein. It has shaped his life.
Ethan credits his knowledge of Spanish with opening the door to experiences, adventures, and relationships around the world, and he hopes to give his students that same opportunity. For him, learning a language means learning far more than vocabulary and grammar. His classroom draws on culture, history, art, geography, music, food, sports, current events, and everyday life to help students better understand the world and the people in it.
His own curiosity has taken him to more than 20 countries across five continents. Away from the classroom, Ethan loves camping, hiking, chopping wood, and cooking over an open fire. He has also mastered one particularly useful skill along the way: packing for a long trip in just one backpack.
