Lisa Hardin serves as Campus Farm Manager and Spanish teacher at St. Edward High School, where she has been a member of the faculty since 2001. She teaches Spanish and agriculture and coordinates the FarmSTED and beekeeping clubs.
Hardin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Latin American Studies from John Carroll University. She is continuing her education at Lorain County Community College, pursuing an associate degree in Sustainable Agriculture, and holds a specialty crops grower certification from LCCC.
Her career has been shaped by a deep commitment to language, culture, and service. After college, Hardin served in the Peace Corps in Honduras, working with small farmers on soil conservation, natural pest control, and crop diversification. The experience led her to Spanish fluency and ultimately to St. Edward, where she has guided students in the classroom and on immersive travel experiences in Central America. In recent years, she has helped lead the growth of FarmSTED, partnering with students who are eager to learn about food systems while raising fresh produce to support the broader community. After more than two decades at the school, Hardin continues to find energy and purpose in the work each day.
Outside of school, Hardin enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, riding her bike, and reading.
