Ms. Lydia Munnell joined St. Edward in 2016 and serves as IB Film and IB Art teacher, Film Department Chair, SETV Moderator, and Flight Magazine Co-Moderator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from John Carroll University and a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing from Bowling Green State University.
Drawn to St. Edward by the opportunity to facilitate visual storytelling, Ms. Munnell is passionate about helping students understand both the complexity and vulnerability involved in creating meaningful art. She enjoys watching students grow into more thoughtful viewers, readers, and problem-solvers, and values collaborating with them as they work through creative challenges together. She is especially proud of the IB Film Documentary Project, in which student directors commit to long-term service learning with local agencies and nonprofits—producing award-winning films while building relationships and developing as servant leaders and advocates.
Outside of school, she enjoys watching films at the Cedar Lee Theatre, sewing, and seeing students gather around the camera to watch playback.
