About

Mark Urban has been a faculty member in the English Department at St. Edward High School since 2004. He teaches with a deep commitment to the school’s mission and serves as grades liaison for SEHS Basketball, Bowling, and Swim/Dive. With family connections through his brother Christopher Urban ’90, brother-in-law Josh DiMauro ’07, and a future legacy in his son Luke Urban ’26, Mr. Urban considers it an exceptional honor to work at St. Edward.

He has been recognized twice with the Brother Majella Hegarty Excellence in Teaching Award and earned his Master’s Degree in English Literature with the support of the SEHS Jack Kahl Fund for teacher professional development. Mark values the mission-driven environment of the school, which challenges him, enriches his life, and inspires him to grow as a teacher, father, spouse, and person.

Outside the classroom, Mark enjoys traveling with his family, spending time with his nieces and nephews, attending rock concerts with his oldest child and two sisters, reading, visiting bookstores, riding his motorcycle, and playing basketball. Prior to becoming an educator, he gained experience in grocery retail. Arriving at school each day with his son and the prospect of another meaningful day at St. Edward remains one of his greatest joys.
