Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Department provides students with opportunities to grow as artists and collaborators.

St. Edward approaches the visual arts through inquiry, reflection, and creative exploration in a studio-centered atmosphere. Students are challenged to ask questions, experiment with new ideas, analyze artistic works, and develop their own unique voices as creators. Along the way, they build self-awareness, artistic sensitivity, and an appreciation for beauty that extends beyond the classroom.

Edsmen can explore a wide range of artistic disciplines through courses in drawing, painting, advertising and design, pottery, and sculpture. Courses are designed to support students at every level, from those exploring a new interest to those pursuing advanced artistic study. The curriculum aligns with the International Baccalaureate framework, encouraging students to make connections across disciplines, think critically about artistic expression, and engage with diverse cultural perspectives.

Learning extends well beyond the studio. Students regularly share their talents through artistic projects, civic events, and gallery exhibitions throughout Greater Cleveland.
