Last month, a group of seniors and juniors from St. Edward High School attended The Holy Cross Conference for Student Leaders at the congregation's home, the University of Notre Dame. This annual event brought together students from 11 other Holy Cross high schools across the nation, creating a vibrant community of young leaders united by their shared faith and commitment to service.

During the conference, participants engaged in a variety of enriching activities. They dedicated a day to service, working on projects that benefited the local community and reinforced the importance of giving back. The students attended inspiring speaker sessions where they heard from distinguished Holy Cross educators and leaders, gaining valuable insights into leadership and personal growth.

A highlight of the trip was the pilgrimage to significant Holy Cross heritage sites. This journey allowed students to walk in the footsteps of the congregation's founders and reflect on the rich history and spiritual legacy of the Holy Cross community. By visiting these sacred places, the participants gained a deeper appreciation for the charisms that unite Holy Cross schools and felt a renewed sense of purpose in their roles as campus leaders.

In addition to these profound experiences, the students also had the opportunity to forge new friendships. One particularly meaningful connection was with Br. Dave Martin, who previously served at St. Edward. His presence added a personal touch to the conference, bridging past and present for the St. Edward attendees.

The week at Notre Dame was not only about personal and spiritual growth but also about fun and camaraderie. The students enjoyed connecting with their peers from other Holy Cross institutions, sharing stories, and building a network of support that will extend beyond their high school years.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Brothers of Holy Cross for their dedication and effort in planning this wonderful and inspiring week for our students. Their commitment to fostering leadership and faith in young people continues to make a lasting impact on our school community.
