CLEIMUN25 Was a Huge Success

The Cleveland International Model United Nations Conference, held on campus February 12–14, 2025, was a resounding success—reaching new heights in participation, performance, and professionalism. Sixteen schools attended, sending 300 student delegates to participate.

A dedicated team of 25 student MUN leaders from St. Edward, as well as Archbishop Hoban High School, Hathaway Brown School, Bay High School, St. Joseph Academy, Chardon High School, and Mentor High School expertly managed and facilitated each committee, ensuring a high standard of leadership that greatly enhanced the experience for all delegates.

Four Edsmen won performance awards:

  • Ted Alten ’27 - Highly Commended Delegate representing France in the Human Rights Commission
  • Zain Daoud ’28 - Highly Commended representing France in the World Health Organization
  • Landon Majer ’26 - Honorable Mention representing France in the Economic & Environment Committee
  • Samuel Cruickshank ’27 - Honorable Mention representing Australia in the Political Committee

Additionally, several Edsmen held important leadership roles:

  • Luke Arra ’25 - one of two Joint Secretaries-General
  • Will Garland ’25 - President of the Security Council
  • Alex Pruss ’25 - Head Chair of the Human Rights Committee
  • Andy Scott ’25 - Head Chair of the Middle School Committee
  • Carter Riordan ’26 - Head Chair of the Economic and Environmental Committee
  • PJ Barkley ’25 - Joint Deputy President of the Security Council
  • Peter Barendt ’26 - Associate Manager of the General Assembly Crisis Scenario

Special congratulations are due to Carter Riordan ’26, who has been appointed Joint Secretary-General of CLEIMUN26, and Peter Barendt ’26, who has been appointed Joint Deputy Secretary-General.
