Since 1956, one outstanding Edsman from each senior class has been named Man of the Year—the highest honor bestowed upon a student.
This individual is nominated by his classmates and selected by the faculty and staff for embodying the mission of St. Edward High School. He is a hope-bringer of the highest caliber and exemplifies the school's four Holy Cross pillars as a beacon of faith, a model of excellence, a builder of relationships, and a humble servant leader. We are proud to announce this year's nominees:
Bradley Eaton ’25
Bradley Eaton, son of Dawn and John Eaton, is a resident of Conneaut and a graduate of Conneaut Middle School. During his time at St. Edward, Bradley has been actively involved in the National Honor Society, soccer, football, wrestling, and track. He is a ten-time state champion—earning titles in football and wrestling—and has achieved an impressive total of 12 varsity letters. Bradley intends to continue his academic and athletic pursuits at Princeton University.
Angel Hillsman ’25
Angel Hillsman, son of Angelec and Monroe Hillsman, is from Euclid and attended Our Lady of the Lake School. At St. Edward, Angel serves as Vice President of the Student Diversity Association and is the co-founder of LIME (Life Improvement and Mental Empowerment), the school’s mental health support group. His additional involvements include the Pre-Med Society, Men of Hope, and the football program. He has been recognized with Student of the Year awards in both English and Theology. Angel is a Forward Scholar and plans to attend Ottawa University Arizona.
Jack Lentz ’25
Jack Lentz, son of Elizabeth Reifsnyder and Patrick Lentz ’97, is a resident of Bay Village and a graduate of St. Raphael School. An International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate, Jack serves as President of the Senior Class. He has participated in wrestling, Student Ministers, Student Ambassadors, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Mock Trial. He is the recipient of the Princeton University Book Award and plans to attend the University of Chicago.
Thomas Van Oosten ’25
Thomas Van Oosten, son of Ellen and Scott Van Oosten, is from North Olmsted and attended St. Bernadette School. Thomas is an International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate and currently serves as President of the National Honor Society. He has been actively involved in rugby and FarmSTED and has received Student of the Year honors in both History and Latin. Thomas was awarded the University of Notre Dame Book Award and plans to attend the University of Dayton.
