Since 2006, Adam Mendoza has been a constant presence in St. Edward High School’s athletic broadcasts, beginning as a play-by-play announcer for football and eventually expanding to baseball, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, hockey, rugby, and volleyball. This fall will mark his 20th football season—two decades broadcasting St. Edward athletics—a clear reflection of his long-standing commitment to the program.

Adam’s impact extends well beyond the broadcast booth. He has worked closely with student broadcasters, helping them build skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game. His involvement has created meaningful opportunities for students to experience sports media in a professional setting. He is also co-owner of NEO Productions alongside his son, Chris ’25, continuing that work with the next generation. In addition, he served as a freshman baseball coach in 2022 and 2023.

He brings a wide range of professional experience to St. Edward. For the past 14 years, Adam has served as a Residential Appraiser for Cuyahoga County. Earlier in his career, he worked as a news reporter for Cleveland radio stations, including WMJI, WMMS, and WHK, and contributed to basketball and football coverage for area high schools and Division III college programs such as John Carroll University and Baldwin Wallace University. His background and steady approach have made him a reliable and respected presence in every role he has taken on.

A 1983 graduate of Cleveland Central Catholic, Adam values the role Catholic education plays in shaping young people. At St. Edward, he has found a community that reflects those same priorities. That connection was especially clear during a difficult time in his life. When his wife, Sandra, passed away ten years ago, the support shown to him and his family left a lasting impression and deepened his commitment to giving back.

Adam is the proud father of Marianna, Alexis, and Chris, and remains closely connected to his family while continuing to stay active in his professional life. His commitment to Eagle fans, devoted listeners, and the students he mentors reflects the spirit of the St. André Bessette, C.S.C. Award. Through his work, he has made a lasting impact on the St. Edward community.

Please join us in honoring Adam Mendoza, as well as this year's other award recipients, at the annual Recognition Dinner on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
