Marco Balic '17

About

Marco Balic is a Latin teacher and tutor at St. Edward High School and the founder and moderator of the Eagles in SPACE! student club. A member of the faculty since 2021, he is a graduate of Denison University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. As an alumnus of St. Edward, Balic brings a deep personal connection to his work at the school.

Balic values the opportunity to help students experience the same sense of belonging that shaped his own time as a student. He enjoys working alongside the teachers who once mentored him and is grateful to share the St. Edward education he received with the next generation of Eagles.

Outside of school, Balic enjoys astronomy and sharing telescope views with his family, composing music electronically and on the piano, and studying physics and mathematics. He is especially proud of a year in which he observed seven planets, experienced both total solar and lunar eclipses, witnessed the northern lights multiple times, and explored half of Messier’s catalog of deep-sky objects.
