A St. Edward education is an investment that lasts a lifetime!

Every St. Edward family is offered a discounted tuition package!

To give parents a clear understanding of tuition costs before applying for admission, applications for St. Edward scholarships and tuition assistance are reviewed beginning in November of a student’s eighth-grade year. Families who submit these applications and supporting documents receive an individualized estimate.

Tuition for the 2026-27 school year is $21,150, with a $750 technology & student life fee.

 

Need-Based Financial Aid

Thanks to the generosity of the St. Edward community, significant need-based financial aid is offered to families who qualify. FACTS, a third-party company, assesses financial need through an online application that requires parents to upload last year's tax forms and W2s. Through the same application, additional aid is offered by the Diocese of Cleveland.

DEADLINE: Class of 2031 applicants must apply for financial aid by November 13, 2026.

ABOUT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

Endowed scholarships—made possible by generous supporters—help ensure that cost is never a barrier to receiving a St. Edward education. Recipients are expected to set an example of integrity, responsibility, and school spirit. These scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Service to their school, parish, or community
  • Strong record of academic achievement
  • Leadership potential shown through their ability to inspire others in athletics, extracurriculars, or service projects

ABOUT HOLY CROSS SCHOLARSHIPS

Holy Cross Scholarships recognize applicants who embody the four pillars of a St. Edward education: faith, excellence, relationships, and servant leadership.

  • Faith: Candidates demonstrate a deep and active faith life, a commitment to growing spiritually, and a desire to live with purpose and integrity.
  • Excellence: Candidates pursue academic and personal excellence with curiosity and determination, striving to use their talents to the fullest.
  • Relationships: Candidates understand the power of relationships, valuing authentic connection, building community, and embracing brotherhood.
  • Servant Leadership: Candidates lead by example—with a focus on serving others before themselves.

ABOUT LEGACY SCHOLARSHIPS

The Legacy Scholarship honors the enduring brotherhood shared across generations of Edsmen within the same family. These scholarships are awarded to applicants whose father, grandfather, or great-grandfather, living or deceased, graduated from St. Edward High School. Stepfather and step-grandfather relationships are also recognized.

ABOUT MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS

St. Edward offers $1,500 annually renewable music scholarships to incoming freshmen who commit to participation in one of the school’s major ensembles: Marching Band (fall) and Symphonic Band (winter and spring), Orchestra, or Choir. To receive the scholarship, students complete an online application and take part in a brief musical assessment, which is used only to help directors place each musician in the ensemble and part where they will succeed.

DEADLINE: Class of 2031 applicants must apply for SCHOLARSHIPS by November 13, 2026.

 

Merit Scholarships

St. Edward awards an automatic scholarship to students who score in the top tenth percentile on the High School Placement Test.

These merit-based scholarships are renewable each year as long as the student maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 and a semester GPA of 3.0. A separate application is not required for Merit Scholarships, though families may still apply for need-based financial aid and other scholarships if they wish. 

Provided a student has tested at St. Edward, high scores from other testing locations can be submitted for scholarship consideration.

DEADLINE: Class of 2031 applicants MUST TAKE THE HSPT TEST ON OCTOBER 10, 24, OR NOVEMBER 7, 2026.

 

State Scholarships

Every student is eligible for a scholarship from the State of Ohio to reduce the cost of a private school education. Families don't have to navigate the process alone—staff members in the St. Edward Business Office help identify the appropriate scholarship and guide them through the application. Students may receive only one state scholarship, but it can be combined with need-based financial aid and St. Edward scholarships.

ABOUT THE EDCHOICE SCHOLARSHIP

The EdChoice Expansion Scholarship, offered through the Ohio Department of Education, enables any student in Ohio to use state funding for private school tuition. Awards range from $840.80 to $8,408, depending on household size and the income reported on the most recent tax return. Click the button below for example award amounts.

Additionally, St. Edward participates in the EdChoice Traditional Scholarship program, which provides students from low-performing districts with an $8,408 scholarship to apply toward private school tuition.

ABOUT THE CLEVELAND SCHOLARSHIP

The Cleveland Scholarship is a private school voucher for students who reside within the city of Cleveland. The value of the voucher for grades 9–12 is currently $8,408.

ABOUT THE JON PETERSON SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOLARSHIP

The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship is exclusively for students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Award amounts are based on the category of disability as identified on the student’s ETR and vary from $10,045–$34,000.

ABOUT THE AUTISM SCHOLARSHIP

The Autism Scholarship is available to students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) categorized under autism. The scholarship can also be utilized by individuals for whom an Autism Education Plan (AEP) was developed by their public school district. The scholarship covers educational and therapeutic needs up to $34,000 per year.

DEADLINE: STUDENTS ACCEPTED INTO THE Class of 2031 WILL be asked to complete STATE SCHOLARSHIP paperwork IN FEBRUARY 2027.

ABOUT THE BISHOPS' SCHOLARSHIP

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland offers ten high schoolers the prestigious Bishops' Scholarship for Excellence, which is a $3,500 award. Click here for more information.

ABOUT THE GALVIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Lawyers Guild of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, in conjunction with the Catholic Community Foundation, is offering The Martin T. Galvin Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000–$1,500 award is for students with a family member in the Catholic Lawyers Guild, or a parent who is an attorney practicing law in Northeast Ohio. Applicants must also be registered at a parish and active in their school/community. Click here for more information.

ABOUT THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP

The Knights of Columbus is offering a $1,000 scholarship for students attending a Catholic High School. Click here for the application.

Applicants must be a practicing Catholic, attend an Ohio Catholic High School, and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
