Film Teacher Position 

Position Description: 

Film Department - full-time instructor 2021-2022 school term

Reports to: KC McKenna, Principal.

The Film Department of St. Edward High School aims to hire a dynamic film teacher who will empower our students to create authentic, collaborative, project-based work that will prepare them for storytelling, filmmaking, and film analysis at the collegiate level and beyond. A great candidate for this job does not need experience in the film industry but does need to have a passion for teaching humanities or English at the high school level and a willingness to develop or strengthen digital storytelling skills. In short, qualified English/Language Arts teachers who are excited to pivot into film are encouraged to apply.
 

Ideal candidates will approach the following challenges passionately:

  • Teaching and further developing the curriculum for St. Edward’s Introduction to Visual Storytelling, Digital Cinema 1, Digital Cinema 2 and/or Animation 1 courses

  • Contributing to St. Edward High School’s film-related outreach efforts, including the expansion of the St. Edward Young Innovators’ Institute, Get The Edge, and other Film Camps

  • Producing, in concert with our Administrative, Marketing, Admissions and/or Institutional Advancement Offices high-quality video content for various St. Edward stakeholders (i.e. the annual Wings auction, SETV video news segments, promotional clips, etc.)

  • Maintaining (and establishing new) relationships with community partners and foundations that support filmmaking/digital storytelling, including contributing to local film festivals and competitions that can externally validate student work

  • Working closely with St. Edward’s academic leadership to enhance a culture of innovation through interdisciplinary, project-based learning

  2. A resume that highlights the skills and body of work that position you to effectively and enthusiastically teach film analysis, screenwriting, and production, etc. to St. Edward High School’s Film students. As noted above, a candidate who can highlight experience teaching but has limited production experience is still encouraged to apply.

  3. A portfolio of work that demonstrates an aptitude with digital film, screenwriting, animation, or research related to film history, criticism, or cinematic storytelling (i.e. independent short films, instructional/“flipped classroom” videos, audio projects and podcasts, comics, creative writing, published film criticism, arts/humanities-related research projects produced by former students, etc.)

Intervention Specialist

Intervention Specialist - full-time instructor 2021-2022 school term

St. Edward HS has a fantastic opportunity available for an Intervention Specialist to assist us with designing and implementing individualized programs for our students with special educational and social adjustment needs

 

Following the Mission of St. Edward High School the Intervention Specialist maintains a professional demeanor and shape student’s behavior in ways allowing everyone the opportunity to learn and communicate their views. The Intervention Specialist speaks regularly with counselors, other faculty members, parents and students to provide positive learning experiences and identify and solve any problems or difficulties that may arise throughout the school year. Employees must be willing and able to uphold the pillars of St. Edward HS, including Faith, Excellence, Relationships and Servant Leadership, participating in St. Edward HS sponsored activities related to our school’s Mission including outreach and admissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.

  • Success working with children with special needs.

  • Proven ability to design effective programs for diverse children

  • Proficient knowledge of classroom policies and procedures.

  • Completion of the criminal background check.

  • Outstanding communication skills.

  • Excellent observation and analytical skills.

  • Available to work extended hours when required to meet with parents

  • Experience in developing Individualized Education Programs

Help Desk Support

Position Description: 

Help Desk Support - part-time instructor 2021-2022 school term

20 Hours Weekly

(11:30 am – 3:30 pm – Monday thru Friday)

Mission:

We have a fantastic opportunity available for a tech-savvy. Customer focused professional to work part-
time assisting with password reset, device rentals, and basic computer troubleshooting. The Help Desk
employee works with all levels of faculty, staff and students.

 

Qualified applicants will:

  • Exhibit professionalism, patience and understanding

  • Communicate effectively to understand the IT tech issue needing solved

  • Provide clear and accurate resolutions to explain technical solutions

JV Green & Gold Soccer Coach

St. Edward High School is seeking qualified individuals who are mission-driven, highly motivated, team-oriented, and organized, to join its Athletic Department as the Head JV Gold or JV Green Soccer Coach.

Under the direction of the Varsity Soccer Coach, the JV Soccer Coaches  provide skills coaching to St. Edward HS soccer players, along with leadership and support for the soccer program at St. Edward.

Responsibilities include:
-   Attending JV soccer practices and games providing team building and soccer skills to the St. Edward HS soccer players.
-    Working collaboratively with Athletic Department personnel to provide superior soccer training. 
-     Lead practices to help players improve their performance

  • Strategize on player positions

  • Develop an on-field game strategy

  • Make calls and player substitutions during games

  • Help players stay fit during the offseason



The ideal candidate will appreciate and embrace the mission of St. Edward High School and Catholic education; understand and support the principle that Faith, Excellence, Relationships and Servant Leadership are the foundation of all athletic programs; possess superior character and integrity; demonstrate strong interpersonal and servant leadership skills.  

Qualifications:

  • Current or past experience as a soccer coach is preferred, personal soccer playing experience may be substituted for coaching experience.

  • Must have completed all OHSAA requirements that include but are not limited to:

    • Pupil Activity Permit

    • Concussion Certificate 

    • NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and the Ohio State component.

    • VIRTUS – Cleveland Catholic Diocese Protecting God’s Children

    • Finger Printing

    • Criminal background check

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Must be willing and able to attend practices and games, evenings and weekends.
