Alumni Relations Manager

St. Edward High School has a fantastic opportunity available for an Alumni Relations Manager. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Alumni Relations Manager organizes and coordinates alumni programs and services designed to foster and strengthen the relationship between St. Edward and its Alumni. 
 

St. Edward High School (SEHS) is a premier private boys’ Catholic college preparatory high school in Lakewood, Ohio. The school was founded in 1949 and is operated in the tradition and charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross. The school has an enrollment of 900+ students from a variety of race, economic, and religious strata, within a six-county geographic reach.

Various duties include, but are not limited to the following

 

  • Collaborate closely with Advancement colleagues to routinely identify, qualify and secure Alumni prospects for gifts and communicate development-related activities.

  • Maintain and grow a portfolio of leadership-level donors

  • Serve as the liaison between the school administration and various Alumni groups (i.e., Legal Eagles, Alumni Association, PAC).

  • Manage and grow the Alumni Ambassador Program. Build upon and strengthen communication between classmates to drive attendance at St. Edward events and further cultivate fundraising initiatives.

  • Manage St. Ed’s online social media platform, Eagle Connect.  Additionally, broadcast and promote the school, events, and fundraising opportunities through mail, email, and a variety of social media platforms to strengthen Alumni engagement, participation, and philanthropy within the St. Edward Community.

  • Work closely with the Alumni Association to schedule and plan meetings, staff committees and ensure strong and productive relationships between the Alumni Association board members, officers, and school administration.  

  • Collaborate with the Alumni Association on the planning and execution of Alumni special events designed to increase Alumni involvement and support (i.e., Reunion Weekend, Alumni Scholarship Golf Outing, Legal Eagles, Fat Tuesday, Memorial Mass).

  • Ensure accurate and complete Alumni database records; capture contact, biographical, and career information within Raiser’s Edge.

  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of Alumni, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally; maintain regular communication with Alumni via direct contact, social media, email blasts, LinkedIn, Alumni web pages, and print publications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising or a client-focused environment

  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed

Director of Building and Grounds 

Position Description: 

Under the direction of the school’s CFO the Director of Building and Grounds is responsible for the efficient operation of the school’s HVAC, electrical and plumbing functions; school security and phone system; regular cleaning and maintenance of the school to ensure the school’s safety and efficient functionality along with grounds keeping and event set-up/take-down.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Strategic planning for school’s building maintenance and cleaning including grounds, 1yr – 3yr and 5 yr plan including reasoning for work performed, vendor quotes and staffing needs.

  • Supervises, directs and evaluates Maintenance Manager, Custodial Supervisors and Event Supervisor.

  • Oversees and coordinates major building renovations, additions and projects as needed prioritizing repairs and maintenance up-keep and overseeing outside contractors.

  • Responsible for the daily activities required to direct, maintain and operate St. Edward High School, gyms, related athletic areas and parking lots, providing day-to-day management and leadership for all school operation functions.

  • Develops and implements related building operation procedures and processes ensuring safety of students, employees and visitors is paramount. 

  • Performs visual in-person inspection of the school building and grounds, identifying and resolving issues.  This includes electrical, HVAC, and security systems along with the school building, roof, windows, flooring, parking areas etc.

  • Sources and purchases cost effective products to maintain building and grounds in proper working order.

  • Directs operation support teams for all school events and activities including sporting events held at SEHS, ensuring impeccable housekeeping and the safety of employees, students and guests and the protection of equipment and school property.

  • Maintains the school’s security system issuing key fobs, tracking key fobs and providing accurate reporting to Administrators on key fob usage after regular school hours.  Maintains CCTV security system.

  • Maintains the school’s van and bus fleet in proper working order and makes regular maintenance checks on both. Also responsible for the required inspections and licensing by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of building maintenance and operation’s procedures.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of business management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, talent management, leadership techniques, maintenance and custodial methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • 5+ years previous building and maintenance management experience.

  • Data driven individual with expertise capturing and reporting purchasing costs and all operational expenses.

  • Proven experience with best-practices in HVAC systems, building security systems, building operations and maintenance along with grounds, school building and all mechanics associated with ensuring efficiently and safely operating the school.

  • Knowledge and experience with the RFP and Bid processes, contractual terms and conditions/contract negotiation, OSHA rules and regulations regarding building maintenance and construction projects.

  • Possess a working knowledge of AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) regulations.

  • Verified ability to complete multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Exceptional communicator, verbally and written, with a demonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of socio-economic individuals; diplomacy and tact are paramount.

  • Exhibits a warm, collaborative nature, positive energy and self-motivation.

  • Superb organizational skills and prioritizing techniques.

Bookstore Sales Associate

St. Edward High School has a fantastic opportunity available for a customer service minded individual.   The Bookstore Sales Associate is a year-round, part-time position, responsible for day-to-day activities in the bookstore or at St. Edward high school events.   This is an hourly position with no benefits. Hours will be primarily 11am – 3:30pm Monday through Friday with coverage for football games played at Lakewood HS and basketball games played in our gym.

The bookstore sales associate will work with students and adults processing the sales of bookstore merchandise both in-person and on-line. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, answer questions about our products and services and recommend items to purchase. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and direct customers

  • Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)

  • Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services

  • Cross-sell products

  • Ensure shelves and racks are fully stocked

  • Manage returns of merchandise

  • Inform customers about discounts and special offers

  • Check-in new inventory, unpack product from packing material, and price products

  • Keep book store neat and orderly

  • Arrange merchandise in an attractive, eye catching fashion

  • Provide customer feedback and inventory discrepancies to the Book Store Operations Manager

  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services

 

Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role

  • Experience using a point-of-sale system preferred

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to approach the customer and provide accurate product knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships

  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environments

  • Flexibility to work various shifts

  • High school degree
