THE UNVEILING OF THE REMODELED GYM: ST. ED'S CELEBRATES PATRON SAINT & COMMEMORATES HISPANIC CULTURE
The St. Edward Main Gym has been an iconic space that celebrates St. Ed's excellence and showcases Eagle Pride. As the home of cherished athletic accomplishments, show-stopping musical performances, and memorable Eagle rallies, the gym has also been transformed into a worship space for students, faculty and staff to celebrate all-school liturgies for years. With the decision to reinvigorate the gym with brand new flooring and design, resize St. Ed's championship banners, and install state-of-the-art scoreboard technology starting in Summer 2021, the renovation was unveiled this week, welcoming students for the first all-school mass back in the main gym since February 2020.
Gathering together to take in the new design of the main gym, the St. Ed's community celebrated the feast day of St. Edward the Confessor, the figure of healing and transformation, and prepared readings and liturgical music in Spanish to honor the conclusion of Hispanic Heritage Month.
