INTERDEPARTMENTAL COLLAB BRINGS NEW ENTREPRENEURIAL, ALUMNI-CENTRIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDSMEN

St. Ed's Institutional Advancement Office recently teamed up with the Business and Entrepreneurship Department and the Social Studies Department to initiate a program which is aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of current St. Edward students. Ten Edsmen who have strong entrepreneurial mindsets and skill or who already run their own businesses were invited to have lunch and discuss various business topics with St. Ed's 2007 graduate Debo Elias.

Debo, who was an All-State Football selection for the St. Edward Eagles, is a Senior Manager of Economic & Valuation Services at KPMG, one of the top four accounting firms in the world. He also has a passion for and knowledge of entrepreneurship by running various enterprises and currently owns and operates a real estate agency in Northeast Ohio. Students had the opportunity to talk directly with Debo about their business experiences in marketing, investments, management, expansion, and networking. "In addition to the 'shop talk' involving strategies, Debo offered other valuable advice to the ambitious, young men," says Social Studies teacher Matthew Levindofske. "He reminded them to be patient, but persevering as they invest much of their time and energy into the firm they created."
