ST. ED'S "EAGLES ON FOOT" RETURNS & EXPANDS HOLY CROSS OUTREACH

St. Ed's "Eagles on Foot" 5K Race and 1 Mile Walk finally makes its return to campus, this time during the St. Edward Reunion & Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, September 24 at 9:00 a.m. Since 2008, the Eagles on Foot 5K run and 1 Mile Walk has benefited Basil Moreau School, St. Edward High School’s sister school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Now in 2022, St. Ed's has broadened the purpose of the race to encompass our Holy Cross mission in two aspects:

To provide micro-grants to Holy Cross Schools in need, like in Haiti, and
To provide financial aid to students participating in St. Ed's planned service immersion trips. These life-changing trips help build Servant Leadership qualities in our students that last a lifetime. To learn more about these trips and why they are so important, watch the video below.

"We are excited to welcome back Eagles on Foot, which has been a St. Ed's tradition for over a decade. After several years since the last race, this year's race has undergone several changes, which we hope will appeal to the St. Ed's Community. From moving the event to the Homecoming and Reunion weekend, expanding our outreach through the event's mission, and offering fun new awards for our fastest Alum, fastest Future Eagles, and for any students, faculty and staff who can run faster than our Principal, Matt Stepnowsky, I hope these new changes really excite our community to get involved," says Manager of Outreach and Service Emily McGee. "As a runner and as a staff member at St. Ed's, I am excited to offer this race as a way to grow our community's support of our Holy Cross mission, while having a good time together. I am very appreciative of all of our race sponsors, especially our 2022 Eagles on Foot Holy Cross Title Sponsor, Guardian Medical Equipment, and those who have registered to run or walk."
